The
leaves grow up and then cascade down like a fountain. The
foliage turns various shades of gold in the fall and keeps
its color throughout the winter. The miscanthus grass has
erect flowers that turn soft and fluffy in the winter and
they persist beautifully in dried flower arrangements.
Miscanthus grass is used in gardens as specimen plants or
as backdrops for perennials and shrubs. The silvery and white
forms are great backgrounds for more colorful plants. The
taller forms of miscanthus grass can be used as a dense hedge.
